Year 2002-20??

2002 was a difficult year for the Adventure Camp as we had a year behind us with many government decisions that did not go our way. From the beginning we wanted to start an adventure camp in Eriksdal. But after a year of fighting, we had to give up. A few weeks later, my co-worker Marie told me that the Red Cross had terminated its contract in Sovde at their camp. A little thoughtfully, we drove down to the campground one afternoon and inspected the place. My first thought was that I may never rent this, but with Marie’s husband Lasse’s help, we managed to persuade the municipality to rent to us. We had been mobile as a company since 1995 and finally got to land. It was an incredible relief to have a place for all our activities. In 2004 we bought the area from Sjöbo municipality and have since renovated and decorated all the buildings to what they are today. A renovation that never ends

Year 1971-2001

This Messerschmitt 410 was shot down on April 11, 1944 in the plane sat Max and Josef who were 20 and 24 years old. The plane crashed in the parking lot of today’s ground floor apartments located by Sövdesjön. Nils Holmgren from Malmö also died here, who happened to be exactly where the plane crashed in 1939, a building permit was sought to build this secret air base. The buildings were set up so that it would resemble a farmhouse with stables and dwelling houses. The military name of the place became war airport no. 2. There were a hundred men stationed at the camp. It included about 10 houses with, among other things, a dining hall building, staff and communication, 2 dormitories with 44 beds in each and the highest officers had their own house. There was also a larger conference room, 2 storage buildings and an aircraft hangar that looked like a barn. There are also a lot of cement bunkers in the area.
